There are three main sections to the footage:

1. Funeral: Mrs Anna Riggs Jay of Blendon Hall died on 28 February 1929, aged 88. Her funeral cortege is shown in front of the hall, leaving the estate and proceding along Blendon Road to St Mary’s Church, Bexley.

2. Staff: The loyal staff of the Blendon estate included a butler, footmen, gardeners, housekeeper, dairymaid, maidservants, gardeners, nursemaids and other domestic servants. When Mrs Jay died the staff either retired or moved on. The ‘for sale’ boards were erected within a few weeks.

3. The Hall: Both the exterior and interior of the Hall as it was in the 1920s in all its glory.
